Dixieland at China Rose!

  • What: Trad/Dixieland Jazz Jam Session
  • When: Every Tuesday from 6-9 PM (begins August 30th)
  • Where: The China Rose (Speedway and Rosemont in Tucson)
  • Contact: AJA office, 250-7256 or 792-0160
We are beginning our second season with the China Rose on Speedway and Rosemont. The AJA Jazz Quintet will continue performing Saturday's from 8-11PM. As always AJA students get a discount on the All-You-Can-Eat Buffet every Saturday night. The China Rose has been a great supporter of the AJA and our fine young musicians.

Again, if you are SERIOUS about becoming a great jazz improviser we encourage you to come out to LISTEN and or PLAY! These are incredible opportunities that young musicians simply don't have in many other places nationally. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM!

Please remember....when you come to sit in....dress appropriately. Nice slacks, button down shirt, tucked in...no jeans or tennis shoes! When you step onto the stage, you are a representative of the AJA and the establishment you are performing at.

This is the ONLY ongoing venue in Southern Arizona to hear Traditional/Dixieland Jazz!!

Featuring The Arizona Roadrunners , the menu includes the sounds of Bix Beiderbeck, Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, Sydney Bechet, Jack Teagarden and many others.

Sit back and enjoy the sounds of New Orleans or bring your horn and sit in!

All you can eat buffet. No cover charge!
